What a Body Corporate does

Many years ago I signed a contract to sell a house and I did not read it.  This cost me $5000.00.  I learnt a valuable lesson...

Thank you for visiting my new website.

Welcome to Lifestyle Strata’s first blog.

While running the Sunshine Coast 10km run a couple of weeks ago, I tried to focus on ideas for my first blog instead of tired legs and stitch and I came up with the following thoughts.

For many unit owners, new and existing, the world of Body Corporate can be confusing, complicated and at times very challenging.

Running is the same.  Whether it be 5km, 10km a half marathon or a full marathon.   What makes a difference is the training or for unit owners, the right Body Corporate Manager.

No matter what the challenge is in life, you need to surround yourself with great support networks.

This is very important when it comes to owning a unit or being part of a Body Corporate or Body Corporate Committee.

I have dealt with hundreds of owners over the past 9 years and many have been new to unit living and being part of a body corporate or committee.

Teaching and educating owners and developers is something I am very passionate about and my intention is to help everyone understand the wonderful world of Body Corporate and Strata.

There are thousands of units/Bodies Corporates in Queensland however many people have never heard of Body Corporate or Strata.

From Wikipedia

“Strata title is a form of ownership devised for multi-level apartment blocks and horizontal subdivisions with shared areas. The 'strata' part of the term refers to apartments being on different levels, or "strata".

Strata title was first introduced in 1961 in the state of New South Wales, Australia, to better cope with the legal ownership of apartment blocks. Previously, the only adequate method of dividing ownership was company title, which suffered from a number of defects, such as the difficulty of instituting mortgages. This term also applies to house-type strata title units in Australia.”

Strata titled buildings can be a duplex, triplex up to a multi-leveled apartment block and can be either residential, commercial, industrial or mixed use such as accommodation and resort.
